The JC-COC now enters its seventh year, thanks to the efforts put forth by the founders from the 2003 inception, and the participation of those who have since volunteered their time. Currently we are facing a difficult economic climate both internationally and nationally. However, it is in this environment that we strive to build and develop business in the Japan-Canada community through mutual cooperation and learning.
As noted in our mission statement, we hope that the JC-COC is able to encourage Japanese companies to further particpate and become involved in the general Canadian community. In order to fulfill this mission I would like to encourage everyone to provide suggestions on events and direction so that we can excel to become an association that can effectively support our members and their business goals.
In addition, to further this mission, this year we will concentrate our efforts on increasing membership and and ultimately the scale of our association as a whole. Specifically, we hope to see our membership increase to between 100 to 120 individuals. Along with increasing membership, the directors hope to provide richer and more relavent events and seminars for the benefit of all members.
